A local news and community platform for towns and regions of any size, open to every point of view.
Every town used to have a town square, one place for news, notices, local business and neighbors. Today that conversation is scattered across social media groups run from far away, where the important things get lost in the noise. TownSquare™ brings the town square back online, and keeps it local: run by people from the community and about the community. The company is building and proving it first in Lincoln, Maine and the surrounding communities, then offering it to towns like them.
TownSquare™ is offered under license to local operators. The operator runs and publishes their community’s site, and C.A. Lord Software Group supplies the software, updates and support. It isn’t available to other communities yet.

Urgent notices shown across the whole site. Only an administrator can publish an alert, and alerts never publish automatically.
Email newsletter
A daily email digest of newly published local content.
Companion app
TownSquare™ includes a phone app built on the same content as the website. Readers can follow local news, contributors can send in updates, and organizations can manage their accounts.

Case study
Lincoln Town Square
Lincoln Town Square is the first TownSquare™ deployment, a community information hub and local news publication for Lincoln, Maine and the surrounding communities. C.A. Lord Software Group, LLC owns and operates it. The website, newsletter and editorial tools are built, and the site is preparing for its public launch.
